Policing uses information to protect the public and IMCC aims to ensure that information is shared in order to reduce harm, make the public safe and reduce crime. The committee oversees a number of working groups that will deliver national information sharing agreements; provide data that is needed simply and quickly from national systems and on mobile devices; provides access to other law enforcement agency data, when appropriate.
Update on Coronavirus FPNs issued by police – March 2021
Police in England and Wales have processed a total of 94,368 fixed penalty notices for breaches of Coronavirus restrictions up to 14 March 2021.

Provisional data from police forces in England and Wales shows police recorded crime is thirteen per cent lower than in the same period as 2019. Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) given to the public for breaches of Coronavirus Regulations rose as national restrictions were implemented in England.
