Crime Operations

Head: Assistant Commissioner Louisa Rolfe QPM, Metropolitan Police Service

The Crime Operations Coordination Committee is divided into 12 portfolios. It coordinates and directly influences frontline policing, Authorised Professional Practice, and specific training for themes that include violence and public protection, serious and organised crime, cybercrime and modern slavery.

The committee work with key stakeholders to prevent and cut crime, including: the National Crime Agency; all police forces in England and Wales, in addition to Police Scotland and the Police Service of Northern Ireland; the College of Policing; His Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services; the Association of Police and Crime Commissioners; the Home Office and government; and other key partners.

Its objectives are:

• Inspire, advocate and support excellence and professionalism within the crime community of UK policing and law enforcement partner agencies, in order to protect and serve the public.
• Build a culture of shared common goals across the crime community with a focus on quality, innovation and providing a first-class service.
• Support the development, implementation and maintenance of consistent crime ethics, policies, standards and professional practice across UK policing and promote them with law enforcement partners.
• Champion a progressive and innovative culture across policing and law enforcement to ensure the delivery of high quality investigations which have victims and witnesses at their heart.
• Support the local to global and whole system approach to cutting crime, enabling the benefits of these principles to be embedded in all crime work, across law enforcement agencies.
• Advocate for investment across the crime workforce within the Police Uplift Programme, wellbeing, training, and continuous professional development, recognising that diverse and talented individuals will further enrich the crime community.
• Advocate for the development, optimisation and accessibility of technology and tools required for crime practitioners to be effective.
