Criminal Justice

The Criminal Justice Coordination Committee (CJCC) is a body designed to improve the collaboration and effectiveness of the criminal justice system. The aim of the CJCC is to create a more cohesive and responsive criminal justice system that can more effectively address the needs of the community and reduce crime.
The overall objective of the committee is:
- To provide leadership on emerging issues that impact on the criminal justice system.
- Innovation and coordination of solutions to complex challenges.
- Effective collaboration with partners and third-party organisations, including Prisons in England and Wales, the Crown Prosecution Service, and the Courts and Tribunals Judiciary.
- Work closely with the College of Policing to ensure that the latest learning and development supports the leading edge of criminal justice practice.
The committee includes Lead representatives from across the criminal justice system, who are responsible for many different parts of criminal justice, such as:
- Victims and Witnesses
- Language and Interpreters
- Custody
- Out of Court Resolutions
- Restorative Justice
- Pre-Charge Bail
- Case Progression
- Disclosure
- Charging
- Courts
- Electronic Monitoring
- Prisons
